We're seeking an ambitious Data Protection practitioner to advise, assist, and oversee Data Protection practices within our organization, fostering a responsible Data Protection culture.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing risk-based advice and oversight on Data Protection, promoting Data Protection by Design, and integrating privacy considerations into new projects and initiatives.
  • Developing a culture of responsible Data Protection through training and communication.
  • Conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments and risk mitigation activities, recommending controls, and overseeing their implementation.
  • Maintaining the Record of Processing Activities, ensuring processing bases are clear, and advising teams on customer rights.
  • Helping teams adhere to Data Protection standards and procedures, including using tools like file scanning.
  • Collaborating with the Data Protection team, including the DPO, to ensure timely completion of actions from Data Protection incidents.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a Data Protection or Privacy role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Data Protection legislation and related regulations.
  • Experience in the Financial Services sector or a similar regulated industry.
  • A recognised Data Protection or Privacy qualification (e.g., BCS, PDP, IAPP), or willingness to obtain one within 12 months.
  • Effective communication skills to guide and influence stakeholders on Data Privacy controls.
  • A desire for continuous improvement in Data Protection practices.
  • Innovative thinking regarding data use, with the ability to implement benefits.
