Job Description
Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Data Manager to oversee the organisation's data lifecycle, ensuring information is accurate, secure, and accessible for business intelligence, and when it is relevant, destruction and archiving of data.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, excellent analytical and problem solving skills, good prioritisation skills, and be flexible enough to adapt plans.

This role will design storage systems, implement data governance policies, and manage data quality to support strategic decision-making, acting as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for overseeing the organisation's data lifecycle, ensuring information is accurate, secure, and accessible for business intelligence, and when relevant, destruction and archiving of data.
  • Design storage systems, implement data governance policies, and manage data quality to support strategic decision-making, acting as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Data Strategy & Management: develop, implement, and maintain databases, data warehouses, and storage systems.
  • Data Governance & Security: create policies for data access, privacy, and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR), ensuring data is secure.
  • Data Quality Assurance: monitor systems to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across the organisation.
  • Collaboration & Reporting: work with operations, HR, finance, retail, and supply chain data, and other business processes and systems data.
  • Manage teams who handle core business data.
  • Identify new data sources for the demands of different areas (e.g., Sales, Operations, HR, Finance).
  • Interact with business process owners to ensure that requirements are addressed, and reports & dashboards satisfy the requirements.
  • Ensure training of end users on the effective use of Power BI reports and the use of other systems.
  • Work with third party suppliers to develop an understanding of data and the contents of the data warehouse.
  • Drive the use of modern technologies in reporting, e.g., machine learning, to surface actionable insights from the data.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience as a BI Analyst / Developer.
  • Expert knowledge of reporting tools, e.g., Power BI, Crystal Reports.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Expert knowledge of DAX language.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Understanding of complex information and requirements.
  • Good evaluation skills.
  • Confidence in decision making.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Good prioritisation skills and be flexible enough to adapt plans.
  • A good team playing mentality.
  • Good all round knowledge of hardware, software, and telecommunication.
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the airline catering industry covering all areas of the business.
  • Self development to reach the target goals set.
