Data Governance Expert

I am seeking a Data Governance Expert for a contract assignment with a Brussels based financial client. An awareness of Data protection ( information security ) and privacy principles ( GDPR ) on an international scale is expected. Candidates should be fluent in English and French or Dutch and ideally have experience in Banking and Finance domain.

As a Data Governance Specialist you will join the team focusing on different but complementary streams including:

• Enterprise Data Modelling
• Data Regulatory Affairs
• Data Governance tools
• Data Quality
• Data Privacy & Ethics

Assessments of DPE-related risks in various contexts (projects, outsourcing initiatives, existing solutions, etc.) - aka DPIA

Create detailed or synthetic reports on risks, structured and formulated in accordance with the client's standards and best practices in these areas;

Propose and / or validate risk mitigation measures;

Deliver DPE advisory and consultancy services to the organization;

Deliver services in the context of 'data subject rights' requests;

Support the organization in the management of potential incidents (personal data breaches)

Deliver awareness, training and communication support to the organization

You will develop and deliver data governance support in the context of various initiatives.

• Establish and ensure adherence to the enterprise data governance, quality, modeling and regulation frameworks for data policies, standards and practices, both at the data, business and tribe level, to achieve the required level of data quality integrity, protection and compliance with the regulation
• Serve as a point of escalation for governance, quality, integrity, protection and data compliance issues
• Work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets
• Deliver DPE and Data Governance support in the context of AI Regulation related requests.

A Masters Degree in Law or Engineering is preferred but candidates with academic backgrounds with substantial knowledge of analytics are also encouraged to apply.
