Data Analyst (EdTech)

Salary: £40,000 to £47,000 plus £3,300 London allowance

Contract: Permanent

Location: Stratford, London

Working pattern: Hybrid, three days per week in the office

Industry: Public Sector, International Education

Reports to: Head of Product

We are recruiting a Data Analyst to support a global digital learning portfolio within a large international organisation undergoing significant technology and product transformation.

Reporting to the Head of Product, you will turn learner, product and commercial data into actionable insights that improve customer experience, engagement, retention and growth.

Working across Product, Marketing, Sales, Partnerships, Operations and Data teams, you will develop reporting solutions, evaluate feature releases and support decisions on pricing, onboarding and product development.

This is a practical analytical position rather than a leadership role. You will combine strong SQL, MySQL, Power BI and Google Analytics 4 capability with commercial awareness, stakeholder engagement and the ability to take ownership of your work.

You will be expected to investigate problems independently, determine the appropriate analytical approach and explain what the data shows, why it matters and what the organisation should consider doing as a result.

Key responsibilities

. Develop and optimise SQL queries in MySQL to produce accurate, reliable reporting datasets.

. Build, maintain and improve Power BI dashboards covering product performance, learner behaviour and commercial outcomes.

. Use Google Analytics 4 to analyse customer journeys, acquisition, conversion funnels and engagement.

. Analyse learner engagement and retention, identifying opportunities to improve customer experience and growth.

. Evaluate digital products, services, feature releases and marketing campaigns, providing clear recommendations.

. Support decisions on pricing initiatives, onboarding and product development through analysis.

. Define and track KPIs for digital products and services, translating business requirements into measurable outcomes.

. Work with stakeholders to define meaningful measures and reporting requirements.

. Identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities within complex datasets.

. Present clear, actionable insights to technical and nontechnical stakeholders, explaining the implications of the findings.

. Support benchmarking, A/B testing and experimentation.

. Contribute to improvements in data governance, quality assurance and reporting standards.

. Identify opportunities for reporting automation and process improvement.

. Work collaboratively across Product, Marketing, Sales, Partnerships, Operations and Data teams.

. Take ownership of analytical activity from initial requirement through to recommendation.

Essential skills and experience

. At least five years of relevant experience in data analysis, Business Intelligence or product analytics.

. Practical experience using Google Analytics 4 to analyse digital journeys and performance.

. Proven SQL query development and optimisation skills.

. Practical experience querying and analysing data in MySQL.

. Strong Power BI dashboard development and maintenance experience.

. Proven ability to translate analysis into actionable commercial or product recommendations.

. Experience developing and tracking KPIs for digital products or services.

. Experience analysing customer journeys and digital funnel performance.

. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

. Experience working across teams and translating business requirements into measurable metrics.

. Strong stakeholder communication skills, including the ability to explain complex findings to technical and nontechnical audiences.

. Ability to work independently and take ownership of analytical work.

. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast moving environment.

. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable experience and qualifications

. Experience with Python.

. Exposure to data engineering.

. Experience within digital learning, EdTech, assessment or similar digital products.

. Experience within subscription products or SaaS environments.

. Experience with Looker, Tableau or similar visualisation tools.

. Experience with A/B testing or experimentation platforms.

. Experience within global or multicultural organisations.

. Understanding of Agile product development.

. Experience contributing to data governance or data quality initiatives.

. Experience with CRM or marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot.

. Understanding of AI supported analytics and automated insight generation.

. Relevant analytics or Business Intelligence certifications.

Candidate profile

The strongest candidates will combine technical analytical capability with autonomy and commercial awareness.

This role is not intended for someone who requires constant direction or whose default approach is to escalate analytical decisions to a manager. You should be comfortable understanding a business problem, determining what analysis is required, working through the data and taking responsibility for the resulting insight.

The opportunity provides significant ownership and the chance to work on digital learning products with international reach while contributing to a broader programme of technology modernisation and greater use of AI.

Only applicants who hold a British passport or have Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK can be considered for this role. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Applicants must be able to attend the office in Stratford, London, three days per week.
