Salary: Competitive salary from £37,600 to £43,000 per annum

We're seeking an experienced operations data and insight analyst to support our team in implementing new tools, technologies, and techniques to meet Thames Water's challenges.

The successful candidate will support insight delivery within the UK's largest Water and Wastewater Company. This role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career by applying your data skills to solve practical problems.

This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities
  • Build logic, automate processes, report, analyze data, and develop insights using tools such as SQL, PowerBI, Python, and Azure Data Factory, including Databricks.
  • Handle large datasets from diverse sources, including environmental data, survey feedback, and operational data.
  • Design and interrogate databases, perform data transformations, and collaborate to improve data workflows.
  • Create, maintain, and visualize dashboards and reports, managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Analyze data to derive insights and support decision-making.
  • Document ETL processes, data models, and report specifications for transparency.
  • Monitor and optimize ETL and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate across teams and communicate findings effectively.
Qualifications
  • Attention to detail, excellent organization, prioritization, and stakeholder communication skills, including with senior management.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and operational datasets; adaptable to technical challenges.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerQuery, SQL, and Power BI; Python and statistical modeling experience is advantageous.
  • Quick learner of new tools; familiarity with Azure Data Factory and data pipelines is a plus.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences; personable and collaborative.
  • Relevant degree (e.g., Science, Maths, Geography) or equivalent experience; utility sector experience is beneficial.
