Customer Service Consultant

Overview

Hours: This role is for a permanent position working full time 36 hours per week to support branch operating hours. Salary: £25,500 Per Annum. Closing Date: Wed, 29 Jul 2026.

What Will You Be Doing As A Customer Consultant?

• Be the First Point of Contact: warmly welcome customers, in-branch and over the phone, making a lasting impression and ensuring their first interaction is positive.
• Engage and Understand: ask insightful questions to uncover and understand customers' needs, providing tailored solutions.
• Listen and Tailor Solutions: listen carefully to each customer's circumstances and offer personalized solutions that meet their needs and outcomes for the customer and the society.
• Proactive Outreach: proactively reach out to customers over the phone to identify needs and discuss how we can support them.
• Maintain Accurate Records: use internal systems to keep customer records up-to-date and accurate, with a focus on identifying and supporting vulnerable customers.
• Adhere to Policies: understand and adhere to policies, standards and controls, with comprehensive training and coaching to support the role.

What Do We Need From You?

• Experience interacting with customers; previous work in a bank or building society is not required.
• Experience may be in person or over the phone; flexible engagement with customers is important.
• Backgrounds in retail, food & beverage, guest services or health/care sectors are welcome.
• Ability to demonstrate a passion for delivering exceptional service and going above and beyond.
• Ability to work well with others in a one-team mindset.
• Ability to react quickly when the day gets busy and manage time effectively with a wide variety of customers.
• Desire and ability to grow, adapt and change with business needs and priorities.

• Salary of £25,500 per annum (dependent on experience) plus benefits including an annual discretionary bonus scheme.
• 25 days standard annual leave plus bank holidays and increasing by 1 day per year of service.
