Customer Service Adviser

Permanent Post

37 hours per week - covering the Customer Service team opening hours 08:45 - 17:15 (Monday to Thursday) and 08:45 - 16:45 Friday.

Grade G - £26,824 to £28,598 per annum

Main responsibilities

The role involves resolving complex queries at first point of contact, either by telephone or face to face. Enquiries are predominantly on Benefit, Council Tax and Refuse & Recycling, but the adviser will handle requests from all departments.

Full training is provided. Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred, but a strong desire to help people is essential.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer literacy, are required.

Qualifications & requirements

Previous experience in a customer service role (preferred).

Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check - a Department of Work & Pensions requirement because advisers will access DWP data.

Location & working arrangements

The position is based at Warwick District Council offices (Pump Rooms and Saltisford). A role in the office only - no home or hybrid working.

Overview of team

The Customer Service Team handles both telephone lines and face to face service for the Council. While the adviser will work in person at the Pump Rooms, some telephone enquiries may be handled from home once competency is achieved.
