About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and organised Customer Operations Specialist to join a successful manufacturing business supplying products across the UK and international markets.

This is far more than a traditional customer service position. You'll play a pivotal role in managing customer relationships, coordinating orders, and acting as the vital link between customers, production teams, logistics providers, and field-based sales colleagues. The successful candidate will help ensure customers receive accurate, timely updates and solutions, often anticipating challenges before they arise.

The Role

As Customer Operations Specialist, you will take ownership of customer accounts and oversee the full order lifecycle, ensuring exceptional service and communication throughout.

Working closely with internal departments, you will monitor production schedules, manage logistics arrangements, and provide real-time updates to both customers and sales teams. Your ability to stay ahead of potential issues and communicate effectively will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary office-based support for field-based Sales Managers, providing timely updates and operational information.
  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and oversee orders from initial enquiry through to delivery.
  • Coordinate domestic and export shipments, ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are completed accurately.
  • Monitor production schedules and supply chain activity to identify potential delays or issues.
  • Communicate proactively with customers, providing clear and solutions-focused updates.
  • Balance customer expectations with manufacturing capacity and operational lead times.
  • Collaborate closely with production, logistics, and sales teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and met.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure a high level of customer service throughout the process.

What We're Looking For

  • A proactive and forward-thinking approach to customer account management.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The confidence to build relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience within logistics, shipping, export administration, supply chain coordination, manufacturing, print, or packaging environments would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes is desirable; however, training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with colleagues across different functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

What's on Offer?

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • £30,000- £35,000
  • Monday to Friday working hours (9:00am - 5:00pm).
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Supportive and professional working environment.
  • Opportunity to develop expertise within a growing manufacturing and supply chain operation.
  • Ongoing training and development for the right candidate.
