Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver at Waitrose you'll bring quality produce and partner led service to customers' doors. You'll also support the store team with stock replenishment and housekeeping tasks when not on the road.

Night premium of £3.75 per hour applies to hours worked between 22 00.

Minimum age: 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

• Check delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare the van, ensuring all orders are grouped for efficient delivery.
• Complete the required vehicle safety checks, maintain road compliance and health & safety standards.
• Represent the Waitrose brand with excellent customer service as the top priority.
• Assist customers with their shopping, building rapport based on trust.
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
• Self motivated, able to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances.
• IT literate.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Previous driving role experience and knowledge of chilled vehicle operations.

Additional Information

Pay: £14.31 per hour.

Contract: Temporary, Part time - 18 hours per week (Monday 14 15 & Thursday 09 15).

Location: Newport (Waitrose & Partners), Audley Road, Newport, Shropshire, TF10 7DL.
