Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

About the Role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner led service right to our customers' doors. When you're not on the road you'll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities

• Check delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare the van for deliveries, ensuring orders are grouped for efficient delivery.
• Perform full vehicle safety checks and maintain road compliance, health and safety standards.
• Serve as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand, delivering excellent customer service.
• Assist customers with shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
• Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Full valid B Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to lift crates, move cages and meet physical demands of the role.
• Capability to work independently, be self motivated and adaptable.
• IT literate.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a driving role.
• Knowledge of chilled vehicle operation.

Benefits

Night Premium of £3.75 per hour for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00, plus applicable Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.

Pay: £14.31 per hour. Contract type: Permanent. Hours: 12 hours part time across seven days (06:00-15:00 or 13:00-22:00). Location: Southampton, Portswood Road, SO17 2FX.
