Customer and Trading Manager - Nightshift

Location: Mere Green Store, Sutton Coldfield, B75 5BT

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: From £31,700

Closing date: 30 April 2026

Night shift managers work full time hours over four nights and receive a £4,500 premium on top of base salary. (Shifts typically run from 22:00 until 08:00.)

What you'll be doing:
  • Leading a team overnight to deliver all replenishment activities across the store, prioritising deliveries, organising the warehouse, and replenishing shelves.
  • Running a full store operation alone during the night shift, responsible for the full shift and ensuring safety and wellbeing of colleagues in store.
  • Ensuring that standards are brilliant by morning so the store is ready to serve customers.
  • Managing people: performance and capability, conducting disciplinaries, and ensuring scheduling and pay are accurate.
Qualifications and Criteria
  • Essential • Track record of delivering excellent customer service and coaching colleagues.
  • Experience leading a team in a fast paced, customer facing environment.
  • Operational leadership skills - experience taking responsibility for store operations in absence of senior managers.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs (sales, availability, customer satisfaction or colleague engagement).
  • Experience managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
  • Desirable • Experience working night shifts in a high volume, operational environment and creating a safe, supportive atmosphere for the team.
  • Comfortable working nights and adapting to their physical and mental impact, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Resilience, ability to handle mental and physical demands of night work.
  • Ability to lead operations independently when senior management is absent.
