Critical Raw Materials (CRM) Policy Expert
Location: Europe (remote/on-site as needed)
Duration: Up to 12 months
Estimated Workload: Short-term assignments / task-based consultancy
About the Opportunity: We are creating a pool of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) Policy Experts for a new FWC Contract: EC-SG REFORM/2025/OP/0001: Provision of consultancy services to support the design, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of structural reforms in EU Member State. Experts in this pool will be contacted for specific assignments as they arise. If you have relevant experience we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse existing and planned national policies relevant to CRM and identify gaps or enhancements needed for CRMA alignment.
- Propose alternative policy measures and institutional reforms to support local CRM production, processing, and recycling.
- Draft recommendations on changes to the legislative and administrative framework for CRMA implementation.
- Advise on EU-level CRM strategy coherence and resilience-building measures.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in public policy, EU law, geology, mining policy, or related field.
- At least 8 years' experience in raw materials governance, critical mineral strategy, or EU industrial policy.
- Familiarity with the CRMA and related Green Deal, Circular Economy, and resilience policy frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and policy drafting skills.
