About this jobCritical Facilities Technician "Protect the backbone of the digital world." Critical Facilities Technicians ensure the mechanical and electrical systems powering the data centre run flawlessly.
You'll manage high availability infrastructure including UPS, generators, switch-gear, cooling systems, and fire suppression.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong M&E backgrounds who want to work in a precision driven, mission critical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
- Monitor BMS systems and respond to alarms
- Support load testing, switching operations, and emergency procedures
- Maintain cooling systems including CRAC/CRAH units and chillers
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards
- Work closely with engineering teams during upgrades and expansions
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3+, City & Guilds, 18th Edition)
- Strong understanding of UPS, generators, switch gear, and cooling systems
- Experience in critical environments (data centres, hospitals, industrial plants)
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow SOPs/EOPs
- HV switching experience, F Gas certification
Salary: £45,000-£65,000
