Criminology Lecturer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Contract: Flexible / Ad Hoc (with potential for permanent opportunities)

The Role

• Deliver engaging lessons across Criminology courses (A Level / WJEC / Access)
• Teach topics such as crime and deviance, criminal justice systems, and theories of crime
• Support learners with coursework, assignments, and exam preparation
• Monitor progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For Essential

• Experience teaching Criminology or a related subject (e.g. Sociology, Law)
• Strong subject knowledge
• Ability to support academic learners
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A flexible and reliable approach

Desirable

• Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET)
• Experience within Further Education or Sixth Form
• Industry experience within criminal justice or related fields
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
