Service Care Solutions is working with a reputable local authority, based in Derbyshire, which is looking to recruit an experienced Criminal Prosecutions Lawyer to join its team. This is a fantastic role for a qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive with strong criminal litigation and advocacy experience looking for a varied caseload within the public sector.
Role: Criminal Prosecutions Lawyer
Location: Local Authority - Derbyshire
Umbrella Rate: £50 - £55ph PAYE Inc. Rate: £43.80 - £48.15ph Contract Length: 3 months ongoing
Key responsibilities- Managing criminal prosecution matters from inception through to conclusion.
- Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates' Court.
- Providing legal advice to council departments and officers.
- Preparing summonses, witness statements and prosecution files.
- A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
- Proven experience handling criminal prosecutions.
- Previous local authority experience desirable but not essential.
- Strong advocacy skills and ability to attend court regularly.
- Hybrid working.
- Weekly pay - the rate offered will depend on experience and interview performance.
- Flexible hours - 3 to 5 days per week.
