Service Care Solutions is working with a respected local authority, based in Derbyshire, which is seeking an experienced Criminal and Regulatory Solicitor to join their legal. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional with strong advocacy and prosecutions experience to take on a varied caseload within a supportive local government environment.

Location

Derby - court attendance required

Salary

Umbrella Rate: £50-£55 per hour PAYE Inc.

Contract Rate: £43.61 - £47.96 per hour

Contract Length

3 months ongoing - open to part time

Responsibilities

• Manage a mixed caseload of criminal and regulatory matters on behalf of the authority
• Conduct advocacy and provide legal advice across a range of enforcement issues
• Handle criminal prosecutions and regulatory matters
• Attend court approximately 2-3 times per week
• Manage cases from instruction through to conclusion
• Draft legal documentation and prepare cases for hearings

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with 3 or more years of PQE in criminal litigation and regulatory law
• Confident undertaking advocacy in court
• Ideally experienced working for a local authority within a criminal and regulatory legal team
