Credit Controller
- Location: Epsom (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
- Salary: £30,000 + Benefits
- Job Type: Full-time, permanent role.
Join a well-established and fast-paced organisation as a Credit Controller. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with existing credit control experience who enjoys building relationships, managing their own ledger, and driving cash collection performance.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt while minimizing risk and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Proactively chase outstanding payments via phone, email, and other channels.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all customer interactions.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor credit limits and ensure they remain appropriate.
- Manage and review credit-stopped orders, taking necessary action.
- Identify changes in customer payment behaviour and escalate risks.
- Log and resolve customer queries in a timely manner.
- Process new account applications and support credit decision-making.
- Support with ad hoc finance and credit control projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year's experience in Credit Control or a similar finance role.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with customers.
- Confident working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive and positive, with a "can-do" attitude.
- Comfortable managing your own workload and prioritising effectively.
- Strong team player who thrives under pressure.
- Good level of numeracy and literacy (GCSE Maths & English or equivalent).
- Intermediate Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
- Previous experience within an accounts or credit control environment.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Desirable:
- Experience with credit control systems or ERP platforms.
- Exposure to credit checking tools and risk assessment processes.
- Professional credit qualifications or willingness to study (e.g., CICM).
