Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller to join a finance team in Colchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key tasks and responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage overdue accounts to ensure prompt payment collection
  • Contact clients via phone, email, or letter to follow up on outstanding invoices
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and payment activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve account discrepancies
  • Process payments and update account information efficiently through data entry tasks
  • Assist with credit checks and evaluate client creditworthiness as needed
  • Uphold excellent phone etiquette when liaising with clients and internal teams
Qualifications and experience
  • Proven experience in credit control is desirable
  • Familiarity with accounting software and data entry procedures
  • Strong analysis skills to interpret financial data effectively
  • Ability to work independently whilst collaborating within a team environment
