Prospero Teaching is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Bolton, supporting students from KS3 to KS5.

Whether you're an experienced Cover Supervisor or taking your first steps into education, we can help you find opportunities that suit you.

The role

You'll step into the classroom during teacher absences, delivering pre-planned work and helping students stay focused and engaged.

We have opportunities ranging from day-to-day supply and individual lesson cover to longer-term placements, with some short-term bookings developing into extended assignments.

Location: Schools across Bolton
Pay: From £110 per day, negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
Start: September 2026
Hours: Typically 8:30am-3:30pm, although school hours may vary
Contract: Temporary
Availability: Full-time, part-time, half-day and individual lesson opportunities

What we're looking for

You'll need to be confident managing classroom behaviour and comfortable working with secondary-aged students.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience in a UK school, preferably around 6 months
• Teaching or education-related qualifications, although these aren't essential
• Recent safeguarding training, although training can be provided

What you'll need

To work through Prospero Teaching, you must:

• Have the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional references covering the last two years
• Provide an appropriate CV history
• Complete all required safeguarding and vetting checks
