Court of Protection Solicitor

Location: Brighton, East Sussex (Hybrid Working)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join a Legal 500 ranked law firm in Brighton, East Sussex. This is a standout role within a growing and highly respected specialist team acting for vulnerable and disabled individuals, families, and carers.

The firm is well known for its client centred, compassionate approach and its strong working relationships with local authorities, charities, and care organisations.

Responsibilities

The successful Court of Protection Solicitor will manage a varied and complex caseload, including:

  • Property & Affairs matters
  • Health & Welfare applications
  • Deputyship applications and supervision
  • Ongoing management of deputyship files
  • Advising families, carers, and professional deputies
  • Working closely with case managers, counsel, social workers, medical professionals, and multidisciplinary teams

This role offers the opportunity to play an active part in shaping and growing a specialist Court of Protection practice while delivering sensitive, high quality legal advice to vulnerable clients.

Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor with experience in Court of Protection work
  • Strong understanding of Property & Affairs and/or Health & Welfare matters
  • Excellent judgement with a sensitive, client focused approach
  • Ability to manage complex matters with accuracy and empathy
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills
  • Commitment to supporting vulnerable clients and their families
