Job Description
Counselling/Clinical/Forensic Psychologist (Ref: 0116ZN)

Main duties of the job

Your role is to grow and support the team's ability to respond effectively to individuals' past trauma, help build motivation and develop resources to assist people to change the way they think, feel and behave. You will hold a specialist caseload of service users with co existing substance use and mental health needs, including trauma. This is a permanent, part time role (22.5 hours per week) with exact days to be agreed with the service and line manager. Hybrid working can be discussed. Salary up to £52,530 (pro rate) depending on experience.

Job responsibilities
  • Grow and support the team's ability to respond effectively to past trauma.
  • Build motivation and develop resources to help people change the way they think, feel and behave.
  • Hold a specialist caseload of service users with co existing substance use and mental health needs.
  • Provide regular clinical supervision and develop clinical and leadership skills.
  • Engage in regular CPD and updates in line with WithYou policy and professional registration requirements.
  • Use strong CBT and motivational interviewing practice within drug and alcohol services.
  • Supervise and support others in delivering psychologically informed work.
Essential skills and qualifications
  • Post graduate Doctoral level training (BPS accredited) in clinical or counselling psychology, or equivalent.
  • Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist, with evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrated experience as a qualified practitioner psychologist (clinical or counselling) under supervision for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Experience of psychological assessment and treatment of service users with complex needs and substance misuse for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Accreditation with BABCP or working toward accreditation (achievable within 6 months) - not essential.
