Job Description

Are you a Council Tax Officer looking to work remotely from home?

Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client is seeking to recruit a Council Tax Officer to support during a busy period.

This assignment is inside IR35 and offers home working with one day per month in the office.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  1. Proficiently use Civica Open Revenues (IBS) Revenues and Benefits Processing System
  2. Administer the billing and collection of Council Tax
  3. Open, close, and amend Council Tax accounts
  4. Take payments and set up direct debits
  5. Negotiate payment plans on Council Tax debt
  6. Apply discounts, reliefs, exemptions, and disregards
  7. Handle moves in and out of properties
  8. Determine liabilities
  9. Respond to enquiries in line with legislation and council policy
  10. Investigate and respond in writing to Councillor and Members' complaints within set deadlines
  11. Assist with incoming calls, emails, and correspondence
