Cost Contract Manager, NEC, required to provide client-side commercial leadership across a diverse portfolio of capital projects within a prestigious occupied heritage estate.
London based-Hybrid working
Daily Rate;800-900 a day (umbrella)
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional with extensive NEC contract management experience to support project teams from concept through to completion, ensuring robust cost control, financial governance and value for money across major programmes of work.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the client-side commercial representative across multiple projects.
Provide expert advice and assurance on NEC contracts, including Options A, B, C and E.
Review and challenge cost plans, forecasts, valuations, compensation events and risk allowances.
Support business case development, budget planning and financial reporting.
Monitor project performance, forecasting accuracy and change control compliance.
Review and assure contractor and consultant commercial outputs through CEMAR and other governance systems.
Support procurement activities, tender evaluations and commercial strategy development.
Produce monthly cost and contract assurance reports and contribute to board-level reporting.
Work closely with project managers, finance teams, consultants and senior stakeholders to drive successful project delivery.
About You
You will be a qualified commercial professional with:
A degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline.
Professional membership such as MRICS, MCIPS or equivalent.
A minimum of five years post-qualification experience in cost and contract management.
Proven experience delivering commercial management on projects valued in excess of £50 million.
Strong knowledge of NEC contract administration and contract management systems.
Experience working within occupied buildings, heritage or listed estates and complex building services infrastructure.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, leadership and reporting skills.
Desirable:
NEC4 Accreditation.
Experience in client-side commercial assurance and governance environments.
