Our Information Governance Team is looking to employ a Corporate Apprentice (Level 2) Information Governance Support Officer based at County Hall, CF10 4UW, to contribute to our Service, helping us to deliver the Council's Access to Information, Records Management, and Data Protection services.

This role will involve working online from home and/or a mix of home and office (hybrid) working.
About the jobThis Corporate Apprentice (Level 2) role should equip you with a strong foundation in data privacy principles, legal frameworks such as the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and practical skills for managing personal data responsibly. By the end of the apprenticeship, you will be confident in identifying data protection risks, supporting compliance activities, conducting security incident investigation, and promoting a culture of privacy within the organisation.
To support your development, you will undertake a Welsh Government Apprenticeship Framework in Digital Skills for Business at Level 2 in the role and will receive on the job training and supervision to help you deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive and customer focussed manner. You will also be supported by your manager and a named mentor who will encourage you to develop a range of transferrable skills to support your career progression.
Many of our teams work online with a mix of home or hybrid (office) working. Where homeworking is required, you will be given the necessary equipment and training, however, you will need to arrange your own internet connectivity (support may be available to help with this).

As a Corporate Apprentice, you will gain valuable experience working for Cardiff - the largest Council in Wales. Although we cannot guarantee that you will go on to secure a further role at the end of the initial contract, you will be supported and encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities available within our organisation to help progress your career.

This post is temporary for 21 months if worked full time, or longer if worked part time. Most roles are based on a 37-hour week though many roles can be worked on a part time basis at a minimum of 16 hours per week for apprentice roles.
