Main duties of the job

This contract is to work various days in the week, on a six week rolling rota. You will be required to work weekends and to include Bank Holidays as and when required, for which an additional payment is made.

• Cooking home made meals and salads for patients, staff and the general public.
• Preparing special dietary meals for patients as and when required.
• Keeping the cooking area clean and tidy at all times and completing relevant HACCP forms.

Hours of work are between 07:00am and 20:00pm. Successful candidates will receive staff uniform.

Qualifications and Knowledge

• Basic level of general education.
• City & Guilds 706 1 and 2 or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Detailed knowledge of HACCP systems.
• Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to achieve).
• Health and Safety, COSHH, Moving and Handling knowledge.

Experience

• Previous experience of similar cook duties.
• Experience in a similar sized establishment or organisation.
• Experience of special dietary needs.

Language Requirements

• Welsh Speaker (Level 1).
