Are you an experienced Conveyancing Assistant looking for a role where you can gain exposure to the full residential conveyancing process while working alongside an experienced fee earner?
We are recruiting for a well-established Yorkshire law firm looking to strengthen its busy Residential Property team with an experienced Conveyancing Assistant.
This is a hands-on position offering exposure to residential conveyancing transactions from the opening of a file through to completion and registration.
Working closely with a Conveyancing Fee Earner, you will provide support across a busy caseload of residential property transactions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Opening new conveyancing files and completing initial administration
- Supporting residential sales and purchases
- Undertaking property searches
- Preparing and issuing sale contracts
- Assisting with conveyancing enquiries
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, solicitors, lenders and other parties
- Dealing with incoming monies
- Preparing documentation for exchange and completion
- Assisting with completion formalities
- Dealing with Land Registry and registration requirements
- Preparing monthly bills
- Keeping files accurate and up to date
- Helping ensure transactions progress efficiently and clients are kept informed
You will ideally have previous experience working within residential conveyancing and a good understanding of the end-to-end conveyancing process.
Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant, Legal Assistant, Conveyancing Paralegal or in a similar property role would be particularly relevant.
You should have:
- Experience of residential sales and purchases
- Good knowledge of the conveyancing process
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Good IT skills
- The ability to prioritise a busy workload
- A flexible and proactive approach
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
This is a great opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant looking to build on their existing experience within a busy and established Residential Property team.
You'll also have the opportunity to gain broad exposure to residential conveyancing transactions and continue developing your knowledge and experience within property law.
