Your new company
A well-established financial institution offering a broad range of financial services, including personal and commercial banking, wealth management, and capital markets. They serve over 17 million clients across their key markets, and have a strong reputation for excellence.
Your new role The client is seeking a Controls & Governance Lead (Legal Entity Reporting Europe) to join for six months, with the possibility of extension. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring effective control, robust governance structures and reporting review, including RCSA (Risk & Control Self-Assessment) and RCM (Regulatory Compliance Management).
- Ongoing development of process control strength and identification of potential processing risks and their remediation.
- Overseeing a quality assurance framework consisting of but not limited to: attestation, reconciliations, management, review evidence, EUCs and sample checking complemented by periodic internal and external reviews of various reports, as appropriate.
- Responsible for maintaining a comprehensive document library including end-to-end processes and procedures across all relevant functions. Continuous improvement of existing processes through automation and enhancement to controls.

What you'll need to succeed
- Finance Qualification OR QBE, with proven experience working in a reporting or control environment and experience of regulatory reporting requirements
- Knowledge of Capital Markets products, notably cash securities, repos and derivatives, along with a strong commercial acumen, knowledge and understanding of Financial Services/banking processes.
- Strong numeracy skills and understanding of financial statements
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Business analyst qualification would be advantageous.
- Experience in Financial Change would be advantageous.
