Job Description

Contracts Operations Manager

Oxfordshire

£55,000

Summary

This is a key operational leadership role managing warehouse operations for a high-profile organic food customer within a transparent, open book 3PL contract environment.

The Contracts Operations Manager will have full responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the operation, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient handling of fresh and ambient products supplying retail stores, pubs, wholesale customers, and e-commerce channels, often within short lead times.

This position offers a genuine opportunity for progression. The successful candidate will be developed to take on broader operational responsibility as part of a planned succession when the current Warehouse & Contracts Manager retires.

The role therefore suits an ambitious individual looking to step into a larger leadership position and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of the operation.

A key part of the role will be contributing to operational improvement and supporting the planned implementation of a warehouse management system, helping transition the operation from predominantly paper-based processes to more efficient digital workflows.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Essential:
  • Experience in a warehouse supervisory or management role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading teams and driving operational performance.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of stock control and accuracy principles.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence using operational systems and reporting tools.
Desirable:
  • Experience in food, FMCG, or temperature-controlled environments.
  • Experience working within a 3PL environment.
  • Experience supporting or implementing warehouse management systems.
  • Understanding of multi-channel fulfilment including e-commerce.

All applicants must have an unrestricted right to work in the UK as our client will not support visa sponsorship for this role.
