The Contracts Manager role involves:
- Leading the operational delivery of Response Maintenance workstreams and contracts within West Yorkshire.
- Instilling ownership and responsibility in your teams, leading and supporting successful, on-time, and within-budget delivery.
- Leading by example with a direct labour team, motivating, incentivising, and developing individuals, including Apprentices, with a focus on internal development.
- Managing recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new team members.
- Ensuring health and safety measures are in place and monitored.
- Ensuring resource availability, including subcontractors, plant, and materials.
- Building internal and external relationships to ensure successful contract delivery.
- Producing accurate site reports and implementing corrective actions.
- Managing your own time effectively to maintain productivity and keep procedures and reports up to date.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Experience in producing high standards of Health and Safety management through strong system controls and leadership by example.
- Strong planning and organisation skills to ensure successful delivery of workstreams, managing resources, quality, cost, and risk.
- Experience managing direct labour, investing in team development, and maximizing potential.
- A customer-centric approach, understanding and delivering to customer needs.
- An SMSTS qualification and a solid understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
- A trade background (all trades considered to NVQ level 2 or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
