Contract Senior Software Developer

Contract Senior React / JavaScript Developer Outside IR35 6 Months+

We're working with an exciting company in Manchester who are scaling their internal development team and need a Senior Contract Developer with serious React and JavaScript expertise to come in and make an immediate impact.

This is a remote-first, outside IR35 role with a product-focused business that's mid-way through a major digital transformation.

Key projects:

• Leading the frontend delivery of a headless React architecture
• Supporting localisation and rebuilding core platform components
• Advising on frontend best practices and future team structure
• Collaborating with the Head of Dev + external consultancy partners

Tech Stack:

• Frontend: JavaScript (ES6+), React, Next.js, Redux/Context API, TypeScript
• Backend: Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs / GraphQL
• DevOps: AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway), Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions or similar)
• Other Tools: GitHub, Jira, Agile, Jest, React Testing Library
• Nice to have: Headless CMS (e.g., Contentful, Sanity), React Native

What they need from you:

• Deep experience with JavaScript and React
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects
• Previous contract experience in fast-moving product environments

Details:

• Outside IR35
• Initial 6-month contract
