Major Job Responsibilities

The role involves developing and innovating technology for product development and improvement. The incumbent will leverage their knowledge and experience to design and prototype new cellulose-based environmentally sustainable products, as well as improve existing products. The candidate must be an innovative, highly capable scientist/engineer, with the ability to:

  1. Maintain and enhance a safe work environment.
  2. Design and prototype cellulose-based environmentally sustainable new products for specific applications.
  3. Develop new technologies to improve the qualities of current products and reduce costs.
  4. Stay updated with advancements in the field and identify opportunities for new technology development.

Education and Skills Requirements

  • Advanced degree in science or engineering.
  • Preferred experience and knowledge of cellulose and paper packaging; familiarity with polymer science and processing technologies is a plus.
  • Proven track record of innovative research and accomplishments.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team, providing support and technical leadership for strategic projects.
  • Capability to learn new technologies and contribute to project success.
  • Skills in prioritizing development tasks and assessing feasibility.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools like Minitab and Excel functions is desirable.
