Job Description

Contract Apparel Prototyper/Tailor

Start: Monday, 27th October 2025

Finish: Friday, 19th December 2025 (approx. 3 months, potential to extend)

Client: Global performance apparel brand

Location: Herzogenaurach, Germany, Munich-local for ease of travel)

Work set-up: 100% Full on-site in the Innovation Atelier

Compliance: You must be legally registered as self-employed in Germany, as a Freiberufler

Days: Full-time, 5 days per week

Rate: €60 per hour

Role Brief

Support the creation of high-performance sportswear apparel through prototyping, tailoring, and advanced garment construction, combining couture-level craftsmanship with high-tech garment innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing prototypes to the highest standard of make, ensuring precision and accuracy to tech packs

  • Using couture house techniques and atelier standards to deliver garments with a clean, professional finish

  • Applying advanced methods such as ultrasonic welding, bonding, taping, and other high-tech construction techniques

  • Operating a variety of machinery within the atelier safely and effectively

  • Providing consultancy and feedback to pattern engineers, developers, and design partners on garment construction and processing variations

  • Supporting fittings, testing, and validation to prepare garments for exhibitions, photoshoots, and high-visibility sporting events

  • Managing workflow in a fast-paced environment with clear communication across multidisciplinary teams


About the Role

We're partnering with a global leader in performance apparel to deliver innovation prototypes and final garments that showcase performance benefits at exhibitions, creative showcases, and sporting events.

As a Contract Apparel Prototyper/Tailor, you'll:

  • Bring a hybrid background of tailoring and design, bridging creative and technical expertise

  • Leverage couture house experience (NY, Milan, London, Paris) while adapting to high-tech garment construction at scale

  • Learn and apply new garment technologies, working across traditional tailoring and modern fabrication techniques

  • Communicate effectively in English (essential); German is a strong plus

This is a fast-moving, hands-on role for an experienced apparel specialist who thrives at the intersection of craftsmanship and innovation.
