Continuous Improvement Engineer

CareerWise Recruitment is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our Cork-based client on a 12 month contract. This role offers a competitive hourly rate and an excellent opportunity to make an impact in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and conduct Time and Motion Studies
• Continuously support improvement initiatives to optimise direct and indirect manufacturing labour and in plant material flow with industrial engineering methods including line balancing, time studies, as well as both in plant and external material flow
• Design and implement optimal station layouts with associated stakeholders
• Drive towards sustainable solutions by developing a standard workflow for new and existing products while considering safety and efficiency
• Assist with plans for current and new product launches through capacity and labour requirements
• Support site CI strategy deployment by completing Bottleneck Analysis, Value Stream Mapping and facilitating Kaizen events
• Perform other duties as assigned in terms of overall site Continuous Improvement
• Manage significant projects through PMO

Qualifications

• Minimum level 8 degree in Engineering, Science or related subjects
• Minimum 4 years experience in an engineering, process improvement, lean or operations excellence type role
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the principles of lean as applied to manufacturing
• Green Belt Six Sigma preferable
