About the RoleAs the incoming Contentious Probate Partner, you will take ownership of the contentious probate offering and play a significant part in its future growth and development. - Leading and developing the contentious probate practice
- Setting the strategic direction for the department and identifying growth opportunities
- Generating new instructions and strengthening referral relationships
- Managing and supervising contentious probate matters from inception through to resolution
- Developing and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across litigation and private client to maximise opportunities
- Maintaining and developing relationships with clients, referrers and professional contacts
- Providing technical expertise on complex and high value contentious probate disputes
- Managing an existing and growing caseload
- Representing the firm through networking and business development activities
You will be an experienced Contentious Probate Partner or senior lawyer with the ambition and commercial acumen to lead and grow a successful practice area. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with the delivery of exceptional client service.
- At least 8 years PQE experience in contentious probate matters
- Experience running complex and high value disputes
- A strong track record in developing client and referrer relationships
- Experience supervising, mentoring and developing colleagues
- Commercial awareness and business development capability
- Excellent organisational and workload management skills
- A proactive and entrepreneurial approach to practice development
- Confidence using legal technology and case management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and technical ability
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- Professionalism, discretion and sound judgement
