Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Consultant Upper GI Surgeon to join our dynamic surgical team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our surgical department, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, patient-centred care. Key Responsibilities:

Perform a range of Upper GI surgical procedures with a high degree of skill and care.

Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance to junior surgical staff and multidisciplinary teams.

Participate in on-call rotas, ensuring timely and effective surgical interventions.

Engage in continuous professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge of surgical advancements.

Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and research activities within the department.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
Required Qualifications and Experience:

Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).

Completion of higher surgical training in Upper GI Surgery.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) or equivalent.

Evidence of higher specialist training and experience in Upper GI Surgery.

NHS mandatory training completion.
Desirable Skills:

Strong clinical skills with a proven track record in Upper GI Surgery.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
