An opportunity has arisen for a substantive appointment of a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon to join NHS Tayside. The post is based at Ninewells Hospital & Medical School in Dundee, a leading tertiary referral centre and a University hospital with a longstanding reputation for excellence and innovation. Some sessions at either Perth Royal Infirmary or Stracathro Hospital are also expected. The post holder will join a dynamic and highly skilled team of general surgeons who provide Emergency and Elective services (secondary and tertiary care) for general & subspecialist GI surgery (Colorectal, Upper GI, HPB & Advanced Malignancies).

The successful candidate will be a high level, highly motivated, enthusiastic and fully trained colo-rectal surgeon committed to excellence, innovation and service development who has an interest in advanced malignancies including exenterative abdomino-pelvic surgery. Evidence of training in robotic surgery is desirable. Whilst well supported by a cohesive and enthusiastic team, the ability to deal independently with all elements of such complex elective practice and with emergency general surgery is expected from the offset.

Applicants should be on the GMC's Specialist Register or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT or CESR(CP) at the date of interview. Interview Date: 15.04.2026
