An opportunity has arisen for an experienced employment solicitor to join a growing specialist team on a flexible, consultancy basis. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, high-quality work and a modern, fee share model of practice.
The roleHandle a broad mix of contentious and non contentious employment work for both employers and individuals, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy and contractual matters.
Draft, review and negotiate contracts of employment, consultancy agreements, policies, handbooks and settlement agreements.
Advise on TUPE, reorganisations, restructures, redundancies and day to day HR and employee relations issues (grievances, disciplinary, performance and absence management).
Represent clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings, including drafting pleadings, managing disclosure and preparing witness evidence where required.
Self employed consultant arrangement with work carried out under the umbrella of a specialist employment law firm, with full access to systems, PI cover and compliance framework.
Fee share structure with strong earning potential, reflecting the work you undertake and any clients you introduce.

About youQualified solicitor (England & Wales) with at least 5 years' PQE in employment law (more experienced candidates are welcome to apply).
Strong experience acting for both employers and employees across the full spectrum of employment law issues.
Commercial, pragmatic approach, with the confidence to manage your own matters and build lasting client relationships.
Comfortable working independently within a remote or hybrid set up, with good organisational and communication skills.

RequirementsQualified solicitor with minimum 8 years' PQE in employment law, ideally with experience in both private practice and in house/ER environments.
Exclusive or near exclusive focus on employment law: unfair/constructive dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE, whistle-blowing, contractual disputes, and settlement agreements for employers and senior employees.
Proven track record handling Employment Tribunal litigation (including multi day hearings), drafting pleadings and bundles, and working closely with or as advocate alongside counsel.
Comfortable advising both employers (SMEs, PLCs, public bodies) and senior employees/executives, with a commercial, solutions driven approach rather than purely black letter advice.
Strong experience drafting and reviewing contracts, policies, handbooks, and HR documentation, plus advising on restructures, TUPE and high risk exits.
Demonstrable ability to build and maintain own caseload and client relationships, with willingness to contribute to business development, networking and thought leadership (articles, webinars, training).
