Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (BHNFT) is lookingto recruit an enthusiastic, flexible and committed Consultant Radiologist witha specialist interest in general and musculoskeletal radiology to our cohesive,hard-working and friendly team. The BHNFT Medical Imaging Teamincludes Consultant Radiologists, radiology specialty doctors, radiologyresidents, consultant mammographers and Advanced Practitioners and provides acomprehensive imaging service. The trust is rated as good by the CQC with performancebenchmarked well within the top quartile of acute trusts by NHSE.

Responsibilitieswould include augmenting and enhancing musculoskeletal services delivered byMedical Imaging, support of general imaging services with colleagues and MDTsupport.
The successful candidate will also be expected to participate inthe general radiology workflow, audit, quality improvement, MDT work, teaching,and general on-call rota (1 in 8).

Person Specification Experience- Suitable experience in areas of specialist interest.
- Experience in General radiology skills (CT/MRI/USS/X-ray/intervention) to allow post holder to offer general reporting and opinions on a broad range of work commonly encountered in a general radiology department.
- Experience of out-of-hours working if relevant
- Willingness and ability to fulfil the job description, including participation in the on-call rota.
- Postgraduate experience and familiarity of UK NHS hospital system
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to develop, present and implement coherent ideas for service development/delivery
- Ability to delegate appropriately
- Ability to work within a team
- Completed an appropriate management or leadership course
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to show flexibility in responding to the needs of the Department
- Conscientious with good time keeping skills
- Ability to prioritise
- Full registration with the GMC
- Eligible to be included on the Specialist Register within 6 months of achieving Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR)
- At least 6 months higher training in the post holders special interest from a recognised training centre
- Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or Surgeons (MRCS)
- Other professional or higher qualification
- Meets fitness to practice guidance as issued by the GMC
- Fulfil all duties of post including on-call requirements, if required
- Good personal health
- Full UK driving license with ability to drive own vehicle
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit
- Ability and desire to teach and support junior staff effectively
- Knowledge of the NHS and its developments
- Ability to critically appraise relevant medical literature
- Record of accomplishment in radiology
- Evidence of service improvement
- Evidence of involvement in research e.g., publication of original research, presentation at regional, national or international meetings
