Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non clinical professions. It delivers acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is fixed regular hours.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Radiologist to join our dynamic team of 135 Consultant Radiologists in NHSGGC, based in the North, South or Clyde sectors or at the Royal Hospital for Children.

Applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council, a licence to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in Clinical Radiology or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR), or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview. Non UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a higher level of training and practice in radiology appropriate to a consultant role within a tertiary national centre. In addition, applicants who have not undertaken a UK foundation programme within 3.5 years of the advertised post start date may be asked to submit a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST).

The role is advertised as a full time position. There may be a requirement for the successful candidate to take part in a sector based weekend and on call rota. A subspecialist area of practice within radiology is expected as part of the broader role.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde recognises the importance of work life balance and is committed to offering a range of flexible working options where service needs allow. For roles where less than full time hours can be accommodated, and where the tenure is listed as "various", we encourage applications from individuals seeking flexible working arrangements. Flexible working will be included as a topic for discussion during the recruitment process.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde encourages applications from all sections of the community. We are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and are proud of the diverse workforce we employ.

By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, NHSGGC has pledged its commitment to being a Forces Friendly Employer. We welcome applications from across the Armed Forces Community and recognise military skills, experience and qualifications throughout the recruitment and selection process.
