Job Description
Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Psychiatry-PICU

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) is rated as an outstandingly well led Trust by the CQC and is committed to innovation and transformation. We are seeking a passionate and committed Consultant Psychiatrist in general adult psychiatry to join the PICU in Lincoln.

We are really interested in hearing from you; there is scope for flexibility which could be negotiable through the relevant Clinical Director.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide a full range of psychiatric treatments to the PICU ward.
  • Provide clinical leadership, leading the multi disciplinary input to patients at ward rounds and facilitating individual care plans and treatment.
  • Actively engage in Trust policies, programmes, training, initiatives and strategic reviews.
  • Work within national guidance and professional codes of conduct at all times.
  • Optionally provide input to daytime cover for the Section 12 rota if the individual wishes to join.
  • Be mindful of and actively involved in safeguarding practices.
  • Work clinically with general adults, their families/carers and other allied professionals.
  • Be involved in the assessment and management of urgent and routine referrals.
  • Liaise closely with other relevant agencies.
  • Keep accurate records as required.
  • Contribute to service meetings and the development of service strategy.
  • Contribute to in house training programmes within the services.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge and skills within the services.
  • Be part of multi disciplinary teams.

Person Specification Qualifications and Eligibility
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist register, or within 6 months of completing.
  • Approved Clinician status, or able to achieve within 3 months of completing.
  • Approved under Section 12(2), or able to achieve within 3 months of completing.
  • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • DBS clearance.
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
  • Willingness to engage with further training in general psychiatry.
  • Additional clinical qualifications.
  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
