Consultant Psychiatrist - Bolton - General Adult Inpatient

Job ref: 437-MD C. Permanent Consultant contract, full time - 10 sessions per week.

Site: Rivington Unit, Royal Bolton Hospital.

Salary: £109,725 - £145,478 per annum pro rata. Closing 31/07/:59.

Job Overview

The Trust seeks a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist to act as Responsible Clinician for up to 20 inpatients at the Bolton Mental Health Unit, with occasional out of catchment patients ( 3 4 per cohort).

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership for the ward team and trainees.
  • Lead a 23 bed ward, admitting patients from across the trust.
  • Conduct regular ward reviews and ward rounds, support completion of CPA.
  • Undertake assessments of admissions to the service.
  • Assist the team in diagnosis and formulation of management plans for all presentations.
  • Assess and manage risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, health and safety, and risk of harm to others.
  • Coordinate care with pharmacists, occupational therapists, psychology staff, and external partners.
  • Prepare Mental Health Review Tribunal and Manager's Hearings reports and attend subsequent hearings.
  • Prepare consent to treatment paperwork and other MHA work such as section 17 leave, section renewals, and CTOs.
Qualifications
  • Hold a licence to practice from the GMC.
  • Within 6 months of inclusion on the Specialist Register of the GMC.
  • Within 3 months of attaining AC status.
