Applications are invited for the fixed-term post listed above.

The successful candidate will join a close-knit team of paediatricians working across both acute (hospital-based) and community settings. Child health services in Fife are delivered across various community settings and in a 24-bedded in-patient ward located in the recently built wing of the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. Additional outpatient services are offered at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.

The successful applicant would contribute to the acute consultant of the week and on-call rota (currently 1 in 9) at Victoria Hospital. A separate neonatal rota is in place.

The post involves providing maternity leave cover to our existing epilepsy team of 2 consultants & Epilepsy Specialist Nurse. General paediatrics at Victoria Hospital is a dynamic, well-supported, and highly regarded service supporting the local population of Fife. You will join a friendly, experienced, and supportive team of consultants.

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practice, and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. UK-trained applicants should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the interview date. Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training and the knowledge, skills, and experience required to practice as an eligible specialist in the UK.
