Consultant Ophthalmologist /w SI in Orbital and Oculoplastic

We are looking for an enthusiastic ophthalmologist with subspecialty fellowship experience in orbital and oculoplastic surgery. This is for a substantive Consultant post at the Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be supporting the specialised orbital/oculoplastics services in tertiary settings, including services for the regional Ophthalmic A&E. Setting up of the Orbital tumour Services and Grand Rounds in collaboration with Allied Disciplines would be a priority. Fellowship in Orbital Surgery and experience in independent surgery is essential.
The post holder would also need to participate in the Ophthalic On Call rota.
Person Specification- Entry on the Specialist Register in Ophthalmology (or CCT expected within 6 months from the date of interview)
- FRCOphth or equivalent
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining CCT in Ophthalmology
- Fulfils all other essential criteria as per Personal Specification
- GMC registration with License to Practice
- Higher Degree
- Special interest that complements the existing consultants
- Experience in setting up a new service and Subspeciality MDT services
- Formal training in teaching
- Knowledge and experience of the application of information technology to Ophthalmology
- Publications in relevant peer-reviewed journals in the last five years.
- Evidence of having undertaken original research
