Ophthalmology Department - Ninewells Hospital

NHS Tayside is seeking to appoint three motivated and dynamic Consultant Ophthalmologists to join our expanding and forward thinking Ophthalmology service. These posts offer an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of a modern, patient focused service delivering high quality care across the region.

We welcome applications from candidates with any ophthalmic subspecialty interest. However, applicants with expertise or a strong interest in Oculoplastics, Primary Care Ophthalmology, Cataracts, and Paediatric Ophthalmology are particularly encouraged to apply to support current service priorities.

The Department of Ophthalmology, based at Ninewells Hospital, is a well established, high performing service within both the region and the organisation. As part of a university teaching hospital, the department delivers comprehensive ophthalmology services and supports a wide range of sub specialty interests that have achieved both national and international recognition. As a teaching hospital at the forefront of ophthalmic care, the department offers excellent opportunities for academic development, including Quality Improvement (QIP), Health Services Research (HSR), and publication in care delivery and quality focused papers. The consultant timetable will include allocated time for virtual pre operative "ward rounds" and referral screening, ensuring safe, modern, and efficient patient pathways.

This post is available on a full time basis and part time applicants will be considered.

You must be registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practice.
