Consultant Obstetrics & Gynaecology with interest in EPAU, EGU and resident on callThis post has arisen due to consultant expansion in the department. The post will enable us to maintain an adequate level of gynaecology activity against the background of a need for consultant cover of the labour ward and adequate supervision of the junior doctors required with the current curriculum. The post holder will be required to work in a hybrid rota including resident on call for obstetrics and gynaecology at the Women and Children's Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary.
The on-call rotas are being reviewed with the planned consultant expansion, and it is highly likely the on-call element would change with further proposed expansion.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will participate in the resident consultant on-call rota for Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Women and Children's Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary. Consultant expansion is underway, and the on-call model is evolving towards a sustainable structure with dedicated resident obstetric consultant cover supported by separate consultant on-call provision for gynaecology.
The post holder will join a team committed to delivering safe, high-quality, consultant-led care in accordance with national standards. The post holder will be expected to contribute towards supporting specialist services such as Early Pregnancy Unit, Emergency Gynaecology and Ambulatory Gynaecology.
