Job Description
Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with Urogynae Interest Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts

We are seeking a full-time Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with an interest in UroGynaecology to join our tertiary hospital team.

Our maternity service offers various specialist clinics, including mental health, vulnerable service users, twins, preterm birth, small baby, and Rainbow clinics. The services are multidisciplinary, involving specialist midwives.

The obstetric duties include routine and emergency care, with non-resident on-call responsibilities (obstetrics only). Key clinical tasks involve providing labour suite cover, elective caesarean sections, ward rounds, maternity triage, assessment unit coverage, and antenatal clinics.

Gynaecology responsibilities encompass elective and emergency procedures, participation in out-of-hours on-call rota, and gynaecology hot weeks. The role requires an interest and experience in urogynaecology, including pelvis after pregnancy clinics, general gynaecology, and community clinics. The job plan includes theatre work, vetting, and providing advice and guidance.

We operate a two-tier gynaecology on-call rota: one consultant covers emergency gynaecology at QMC campus, and another handles complex surgery, including oncology at City and maternity services across both campuses, supporting obstetric teams as needed.
