Posted 3 hours 24 minutes ago by NHS
We are looking for an enthusiastic Consultant Neurologist to work at Croydon University Hospital with the potential to also work at St Georges' Hospital (depending on the skill set of the candidate and needs at St George's). We would like to continue to provide and develop the ability of the department to respond to operational pressures together with contributing to effective clinical governance and longer-term service strategies.
The remit of the postholder will be to work within the multi disciplinary team providing and further developing the comprehensive acute neurology service, as well as ideally the epilepsy service or Movement Disorder Service. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department.
Main duties of the jobThis is a full time new post consisting of 10 programmed activities - 10PAs at CUH. The locum consultant would be involved in the development of the acute service for patients and any subspecialty interest would be considered but epilepsy or movement disorder or headache subspecialism would be particularly helpful. CUH are particularly interested in expanding the neuro rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury, neuromuscular and functional neurological disorder services, but all subspecialist interests could be considered.
There is a longstanding link between Croydon University Hospital and the tertiary centre at St George's Hospital, which is essential for continuing medical education, governance, and reaccreditation.
