Are you a dedicated stroke specialist seeking to make a significant impact in acute stroke care? We are searching for a skilled Stroke Consultant with expertise in thrombolysis to join our esteemed team.

As a Stroke Consultant in Clyde, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality acute stroke care. You will lead a multidisciplinary team in the timely assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of stroke patients, with a focus on administering thrombolytic therapy. This position requires a strong clinical background, advanced knowledge of stroke management protocols, and leadership abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the acute stroke team in evaluating and managing patients presenting with acute stroke symptoms.
  2. Assess patients for eligibility and contraindications for thrombolytic therapy, and oversee the administration of alteplase according to established protocols.
  3. Provide expert consultation and guidance to healthcare professionals involved in stroke care, including emergency department staff, neurologists, nurses, and therapists.
  4. Collaborate with neuroradiologists and interventionalists to facilitate timely imaging and endovascular interventions, as appropriate.
  5. Engage in stroke quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and research activities to enhance stroke care and outcomes in line with SSCS audit.
  6. Educate healthcare professionals, patients, and families about stroke prevention, recognition, and treatment options.
