Consultant in Respiratory Medicine

We are looking to recruit a substantive (10PAs) Respiratory Consultant and General Physician based at the Royal Surrey Hospital site. This post is advertised as full time; however we are very welcoming of applicants wishing to work less than full time. The hospital and department are incredibly family friendly and are open to discussions about flexible working.

Main duties of the job

The appointed applicant will work within the existing multidisciplinary team, and will be encouraged to develop a sub specialist interest. The department is very supportive of this, and will additionally support applicants looking to develop in areas outside of direct clinical care. Candidates with an interest in research, and / or medical education would be welcomed. Equally, candidates with an interest in medical leadership, and in service development / reconfiguration would be especially welcomed.

Person Specification Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration with licence to practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Respiratory Medicine and General Internal Medicine via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) or Complete Portfolio Pathway
• MRCP or Equivalent
• Teaching/Education Qualification
• Higher Degree eg MD, PhD or equivalent
• Out of Programme management experience (e.g deanery secondment) or equivalent

Experience

• Wide experience of Respiratory Medicine
• Wide experience of General Internal medicine including multi-disciplinary working
• Relevant experience of management of medical emergencies
• Teaching experience - undergraduate and postgraduate
• Subspecialty interest and experience in an associated Respiratory medical speciality
