South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Older Persons Mental Health Services Crofton Ward based at Fieldhead Hospital. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within Crofton Ward (older adults in-patient ward).

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to join a friendly, supportive and experienced team. The postholder will work an experienced team of professionals, to ensure that all patients receive high quality care. The team comprises of multitude of experienced professionals, who are looking forward to welcoming a new Psychiatrist.

Person Specification
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Older People / Dual training OR within six months of gaining CCT.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within three months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within three months of appointment.
  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
Physical Attributes
  • Smart professional appearance.
  • The Trust is a Smoke Free Trust and the post holder would be expected to lead by example as a non-smoker.
Transport
  • Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.
Experience
  • Excellent knowledge in specialty.
  • Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
  • Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
  • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
